Arrow Lake Stewardship Society

Located in Burton, British Columbia the Arrow Lakes Environmental Stewardship Society undertakes to protect the biological diversity and integrity of the Arrow Lakes watersheds through

  • Observation
  • Education
  • Monitoring
  • Sampling
  • Co-ordination of community group action

Currently the society is engaged in a number of activities:

  • Local water quality monitoring with the Columbia Basin Water Quality Project
  • Assisting Know Your Watershed program for Grade 8 students
  • Assisting the Invasive Weed Council with interpretive signage at boat launches focusing on invasive aquatic species

Future plans include developing a wetland restoration plan for local streams with an aim to assure long-term ecological optimization.
